Title: Rare Earth ion doped oxyfluoride glass ceramics Preparation and Characterization
  Author: Zhao Lei
Degree-granting unit: Changchun University of Technology
Keywords: neodymium-doped glass ceramics;; oxyfluoride;; transparent
  Summary:
Melt - was prepared by crystallization of neodymium-doped transparent oxyfluoride glass-ceramic materials, to determine the best composition. According to differential thermal analysis (DTA) results of the development of glass crystallization heat Magnetic lifter treatment system, based on X-ray diffraction (XRD) results to determine the crystal phase composition and structure. By UV - visible - near infrared spectrophotometer the light transmittance of the sample. The results show that: Ca-Si-Al-F system glass-ceramics the main phase of CaF_2, grain size between 30-40nm in grain volume fraction of about 15%, the visible light transmittance of 65% -72%, near-infrared region transmittance 70%; Ca-Si-Al-F-Nd system glass-ceramics the main phase of CaF_2, the 40nm-50nm grain size between the visible light transmittance of 75-86%, nearly infrared transmittance of http://www.999magnet.com/products/131-magnetic-lifter 85-90% crystalline phase volume fraction of 18%.
  Samples with 980nm semiconductor laser excitation, measured glass and glass ceramic matrix fluorescence spectra, located at 900nm, 1060nm and 1330nm light at the band corresponding to three neodymium ions ~ 4F_ (3 / 2) → ~ 4I_ (9 / 2), ~ 4F_ (3 / 2) → ~ I_ (11 / 2) and ~ 4F_ (3 / 2) → ~ 4I_ (13 / 2) transition. Neodymium ions in glass ceramics in the fluorescence intensity is higher than in the matrix glass in the fluorescence intensity.
